Who I Am
Over 30 years ago, I fell in love with the art of sewing. What inspired me the most was the magic of transforming a piece of fabric into “wearable art.” I started drawing and sewing with commercial patterns when I was just eight years old.
That, along with many other fashion experiences, inspired me to create Sirena Patterns.
My first trip to New York in 1982, right after taking my very first sewing lessons, changed my life forever.
My Story
Fifteen years later, I arrived at F.I.T. and studied fashion design in Manhattan. I worked and studied with fabulous people who inspired me to start my own business.
As a fashion designer, I have presented collections both locally and internationally in the United States, the Dominican Republic, Panama, and more. I designed the official swimwear for Nuestra Belleza Latina 2012 and on numerous occasions for Miss Universe PR, Miss World PR, and Miss PR Teen.
I am the founder of Sirena Patterns, the only Puerto Rican pattern line sold in 50 countries, and through our online academy we have educated over 2,200 students.

The Dream
Sirena Patterns is a dream come true. Technology has given me the power to help people all over the world and teach them about sewing and fashion. We are a distance education company, both in-person and online, as well as a sewing pattern brand offering both digital and printed formats, helping people everywhere learn everything about design, sewing, and entrepreneurship so they can fully enjoy a hobby or establish successful fashion businesses.
In our Sirena Elite membership club, subscribers receive one free digital pattern each month, sewing techniques, mini courses, discounts at the fashion academy and our online store, access to a private community led by Tommie, and more.
